Good Saturday Evening!
I truly hope that you are all finding time to enjoy you final weekend before the start of a new school year! This morning we had over 40 dedicated Union Building Representatives, members and board members come together for our first Building Rep Training of the new fiscal year. The breakfast and fellowship was wonderful, but the leadership, direction and information provided by AFSCME Council 962 continues to provide a stronger foundation as we begin our journey of being prepared, professional, and visionary when representing those within our buildings. As we continue with these workshops I would like to encourage you to become a part of this very important role for your location. It is so important that every school, every department and every employee have Union Representatives who will serve as their voice, go-to-person, and keep them informed on current Union events and issues. Please email me if you would like to be a part of assisting your co-workers by volunteering to be a Union Representative for JCAESP Local 4011.
Unfortunately, we now have an open JCAESP Local 4011 Executive Board position. We are looking to fill the position of Recording Secretary as soon as possible. The Recording Secretary is expected to keep minutes and accurate records of all General, Special Called and Executive Board meetings. This individual will also need to present and report the previous meeting minutes at the above name meetings and must be a dues paying member of Local 4011. Please note that JCAESP Local 4011 By-Laws state that in the event of a vacancy on the executive board, that position will be filled by appointment. Therefore there is no need for an election. If you would like to be considered for the position of Recording Secretary please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org by 4:30 pm. Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
Sick Bank Chair
JCAESP/AFSCME Local 4011 is now looking for a motivated individual to chair our Sick Bank Committee. Training will be provided and any background in the medical field would be helpful, but not necessary. Please email our Local 4011 Corresponding Secretary, Janice Bemiss at email@example.com if you are interested in this very important committee chair position.
Once again, thank you to Dave Robertson, Ron Richmond, Bo Johnson, Iva Peters, Sheila Brooks, Myra Pugh and our many wonder building representatives for making today's AFSCME STRONG training a huge success!
